Pennant matches scheduled for Anzac Day

First of all, next Wednesday is Anzac Day and most courts will be closed - Squash ACT is working out what to do. Stay tuned if you are supposed to play that night.

And congratulations to our own Tessa Filby on getting engaged! The lucky guy is Chris Moon, pity he is a Queanbeyan player.

And further congrats to Bryson Hawkins for having a birthday this week, and despite appearances he is still under 40.

Junior training during April and May; Australian Junior Open

Body:

Junior squash training will be on this week on Wednesday 4 April but will then break until after the school holidays due to the junior tournaments being held over Easter and the following week and also commencement of the school hols. Pennant is also not on now until after the school holidays for the same reason. First training after the school holidays will be Wednesday 2 May and first pennant night will be 6 May.

2012 Autumn Pennant teams (finalised)

Hi all,

today was Grading Day when Club Representatives meet with Squash ACT, put our teams on the table (well, bits of paper) and try to get 6 or 8 matched teams in each Division. Initially we may start of bargaining with, say, 5 teams in Div 9 and 11 teams in Div 8 - somehow we have to work this out by putting teams up and down and changing team members. This took about 3 hours.

I'm glad to say that Valleys came through with minimal changes. There is an issue with Div 1 teams that we need to work through but nothing that can't be surmounted.
